The topping-out ceremony for the "Deerns" residential ensemble, a project by N.O.W. Nord Ostsee Wohn GmbH, was recently held in Heiligenhafen. The development includes two separate buildings – the "Groote Deern" and the "Seute Deern" – which together provide five condominiums. The houses are located at Brückstraße 20–22 and Kiekut 2, in a central position between the historic market square and the town's harbour.
The ensemble, whose topping-out ceremony took place on 21 August 2026, presents contemporary architecture characterised by clinker brick facades, clean lines, and generous window areas, thus fitting into the existing townscape. The "Groote Deern" on Brückstraße houses three residential units, while the "Seute Deern" on Kiekut comprises two apartments. The living areas vary from approximately 44 to 140 square metres, offering diverse spatial concepts. Each unit has a private balcony or terrace and an allocated car parking space. The building on Brückstraße is also equipped with a lift. A special feature is the penthouse in the "Groote Deern", which extends over two floors and offers a roof terrace with Baltic Sea views.
Sustainability and regional roots
The new residential units are energy-efficiently heated using heat pump technology, which meets current requirements for sustainable construction. N.O.W. Nord Ostsee Wohn GmbH places importance on the regional roots of its projects. Per Feddersen, the company's Managing Director, stated that they feel connected to the town and the region and are pleased that with "Deerns", the second project is nearing completion. He further emphasised the importance of collaboration with local partners to realise a high-quality residential project and to keep a large proportion of the value creation local.
The concept for "Deerns" was designed by architect Jan Gollus from Heiligenhafen. Construction was entrusted to Baugeschäft Hofele from Göhl. The ensemble's geographical location is characterised by short distances; the historic market square is only a few metres away, and both the fishing harbour and Heiligenhafen Marina are within sight.
