Implenia AG, a leading construction and real estate services company with a presence in Switzerland and Germany, has announced the acquisition of Zigmo Engineering, a nationally active structural and object planner. This acquisition aims to significantly strengthen the engineering and planning competencies within the Implenia Group.

Zigmo Engineering employs over 70 staff at five locations in Germany, with its headquarters in Frankenthal. The company has distinguished itself through its expertise in forward-looking planning methods, particularly in the area of BIM-supported (Building Information Modelling) structural design and object planning. Furthermore, Zigmo Engineering brings specific expertise in WHG/AwSV consulting as well as in model-based planning and decision-making processes.

Strategic expansion of the Service Solutions Division

Through the integration of Zigmo Engineering, Implenia is expanding the service portfolio of its Service Solutions Division. This step supports the strategic objective of the division to establish itself as a leading engineering and planning service provider in both Germany and Switzerland. Implenia states its intention to continue growth in this segment of the German market and offers Zigmo Engineering an environment for further development and the realisation of synergies.

The acquisition agreement for Zigmo Engineering was signed at the end of May 2024, with the closing of the transaction scheduled for mid-July 2024. Implenia received legal and tax advice throughout the transaction process from a team at GÖRG. The team, led by Frankfurt partner Dr. Tobias Fenck, covered various transaction-relevant specialist areas.

Comprehensive advisory services

GÖRG's advice covered a broad spectrum of legal and tax aspects to ensure smooth integration and address all relevant concerns of the transaction.

  • Corporate/M&A law
  • Real estate law
  • Employment law
  • IP/IT law
  • Tax law

This acquisition underscores Implenia's endeavour to strategically expand its service offering and solidify its position as a comprehensive construction and real estate service provider that supports clients throughout the entire lifecycle of their structures.
