Marcel Abel, Managing Director at JLL Germany and also Head of Leasing Advisory Germany for the leasing business in Germany, will join the University Council of EBZ Business School (FH). With this appointment, the educational institution strengthens its strategic advisory body with another prominent figure from the real estate industry. Marcel Abel's many years of market and leadership experience will complement the expertise of the University Council, particularly in the commercial real estate, leasing, and real estate consultancy segments.
Mr Abel has been with JLL for over 25 years. In addition to his roles as Managing Director and Head of Leasing Advisory Germany, he is also responsible for the company's Düsseldorf office. JLL is a global real estate consultancy firm employing over 111,000 people in more than 80 countries and at over 300 locations. The company supports clients such as businesses, investors, and public sector clients throughout the entire lifecycle of real estate.
Strategic Expansion of the University Council
The University Council of EBZ Business School supports the university in its strategic development and integrates perspectives from business, science, and society into its work. Marcel Abel will primarily contribute his experience from the commercial real estate market and from leading an internationally active consultancy firm.
Professor Dr. Daniel Kaltofen, Rector of EBZ Business School, expressed his pleasure at the appointment. He highlighted Marcel Abel's extensive expertise, particularly in large commercial properties, his strategic competence, and his far-reaching network. He emphasised that the exchange between academia and leading companies in the real estate industry is of great relevance in times of profound change.
Connecting Academia and Practice
Marcel Abel himself described the new role as a personal full circle, as he completed his education at EBZ. He said he was delighted to now be able to give something back to the institution through his work on the University Council. He highlighted that the close link between academia and practice was already a hallmark of EBZ during his training and that this is more important today than ever before.
