Precious Achiuwa, power forward for the Sacramento Kings, has finalised a purchase agreement for a condominium in the Jean-Georges Miami Tropic Residences. The transaction for the property, part of a new luxury development near Miami's Design District, amounts to US$1.84 million. The two-bedroom, two-bathroom residence is part of Michelin-starred chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten's first branded residential project, which combines luxurious living with hospitality and wellness elements.
With this acquisition, Achiuwa joins a growing group of professional athletes who have opted for a unit in this project. Prominent buyers already include Formula 1 driver Pierre Gasly, as well as Argentine polo stars Nacho Figueras and his son Hilario. The residential complex thus positions itself as an attractive location for sports personalities.
The Jean-Georges Miami Tropic Residences
The Jean-Georges Miami Tropic Residences are strategically located between Midtown Miami and the Miami Design District. The architectural concept is by Arquitectonica, while the interior design is by the international design studio Yabu Pushelberg. This project marks Jean-Georges Vongerichten's first foray into branded residential properties, extending his hospitality expertise to a comprehensive condominium development. The residences include units ranging from one to four bedrooms, with prices starting at US$1 million and potentially exceeding US$6 million.
Although specific details about Achiuwa's two-bedroom apartment are not publicly known, all owners gain access to over 80,000 square feet (approximately 7,432 square metres) of communal amenities spread across five floors. These are tailored to dining, recreation, and wellness. On the eighth floor, there is a pool as well as an exclusive residents' restaurant and bar. An additional rooftop pool provides another area for outdoor gatherings.
Comprehensive Wellness and Leisure Facilities
Particular attention has been paid to the wellness facilities, which are specifically designed to meet the needs of athletes like Achiuwa. The WELL Club offers, among other things, infrared saunas, steam rooms, compression and percussive therapy, as well as hot and cold contrast treatments and private treatment rooms. Complementing this is a separate fitness suite with strength and cardio equipment. Areas for yoga, barre, squash, and personal training are also provided.
In addition to the recreational and wellness offerings, the building includes private dining rooms, an archive library, a juice bar, and several residents' lounges. Miami has always held special significance for Achiuwa, even though he plays on the West Coast. The combination of wellness-oriented amenities, unique culinary offerings, and the central location in Miami made Jean-Georges' project a fitting choice. Early involvement in this project, which is still under construction, allows Achiuwa to establish a residence in Miami and be part of the development from the outset.
