ov 25, 2025 – Austin Theatre Alliance announces a $65 million renovation and preservation initiative for the Paramount and State Theatres. $55 million will fund upgrades, while $10 million establishes an endowment. Paramount renovations include new seating, upgraded restrooms, refreshed concessions, interior repairs, decorative finishes, and a third‑floor bar/lounge. Work starts June 2026 and ends March 2027. State Theatre upgrades feature a lobby/lounge overhaul, new seats, rooftop bar, basement venue, capacity increase from 300 to 500, and a new elevator. Construction begins July 2026 and concludes November 2028.
