Alsym Energy to Anchor Exchange 200 with 60,000 SF HQ in Malden

lsym Energy, a developer of non-flammable, high-performance batteries for stationary storage, has signed a 60,000 SF lease at Exchange 200 in Malden, MA. The company will use this location as its official headquarters, while maintaining operations at its existing Woburn facility. This expansion represents the largest lease signing to date at Exchange 200, which is Malden's largest laboratory development and one of the largest new cleantech lab leases signed in Greater Boston in 2024.

    Alsym Energy plans to grow its Boston-area team and increase production capacity to meet demand for customer samples. The company anticipates using the larger space to advance the commercialization of its battery technology, which is designed to provide safe, clean, reliable, and affordable energy solutions for the global transition to renewable power.

    "We're thrilled to be joining the growing Malden tech community," said Graeme Grant, COO of Alsym Energy. "Our new space at Exchange 200 will enable us to speed up our pace of innovation, increase capacity, and get to market quickly."

    Malden Mayor Gary Christenson welcomed Alsym Energy to the city, citing its mission to ensure a cleaner, safer, and more affordable energy future for people worldwide. The company's presence is expected to bring jobs and economic growth to the city.

    Dan McGrath, Senior Vice President of Berkeley Investments, noted that companies like Alsym Energy are attracted to Exchange 200 due to its strong employment base, access to rapid transit, and robust infrastructure. "Exchange 200 offers a unique combination of amenities and affordability that makes it an attractive option for growing companies," he said.

    The JLL team represented Berkeley and Singerman in the lease transaction, while Bill Lynch and Caroline Evans of Colliers represented Alsym Energy.
