eld in mid-November in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, the REImagine 2024 event brought together over 100 professionals from the real estate industry for an engaging and interactive experience. Organized by ULI Asia Pacific, this unique gathering offered attendees a chance to share perspectives, discuss challenges, and gain valuable insights into transformative solutions for the built environment.
The event focused on three core themes: Economy & Capital Markets, Sustainability & Resilience, and PropTech & Innovation. Participants collaborated through educational presentations, panels, and interactive roundtables to exchange ideas and explore practical solutions. Engaging study tours and workshops enabled attendees to delve deeper into these topics and identify opportunities for shaping Asia's future cities.
Delegates were divided into small groups to consider diverse scenarios based on three imaginary cities, each with its unique challenges. This exercise encouraged urban planners, architects, designers, financiers, and other participants to navigate the complexities of city development and reimagine the future of each city. Roundtables focused on topics such as innovative urban finance, smart planning for sustainability, and leveraging proptech and data analytics.
The event featured a range of panel and session topics, including how Vietnam can capitalize on its economic growth prospects, the key components of successful cities, and how countries are adapting their built environments to mitigate climate change. The sessions also explored opportunities in Southeast Asia's rapidly growing markets and the next generation's approach to work and urban development.
The success of REImagine 2024 was made possible through the active participation of ULI members from across the region and partnerships with sponsors PropertyGuru and IndoChina Capital. As an event focused on bringing together industry leaders and change-makers, REImagine 2024 laid the foundations for future innovation and collaboration in the real estate sector.
