n December 9, the Mission Beach Real Estate Association handed a $27,019 check to four Pacific Beach elementary schools—PB Elementary, Sessions Elementary, Crown Point Junior Music Academy, and Barnard Mandarin Magnet Elementary. The funds came from the proceeds of the association’s 24th annual Don Brown Links for Learning golf tournament, held at La Valle Coastal Club in Rancho Santa Fe. The event, founded in 2000 by long‑time resident and association member Don Brown, has raised hundreds of thousands for local schools over 24 years. Brown, who passed in 2017, was a devoted community benefactor. The check was presented to school leaders, including PTO presidents and principals, on the same day. Photo by Alexandra Bloom.
