n the picturesque Swiss town of Tolochenaz, nestled near Geneva and the French border, a tranquil estate once cherished by Hollywood icon Audrey Hepburn is now poised to change hands for $20.8 million. Dubbed "La Paisible," or "peaceful place" in French, this 18th-century farmhouse was Hepburn's serene retreat from the spotlight during her final three decades.

The property, which boasts 12 bedrooms and eight bathrooms across 10,800 square feet, sits majestically on a 40-acre lot with breathtaking mountain views. It's easy to see why Hepburn adored this haven, where she could bask in complete privacy amidst stunning surroundings. The estate's current owners, Katharina and Jean-Marc Beaujolin, have lovingly maintained the property while infusing it with their own personal touches.

"We've decided to downsize, as it's just the two of us now," Katharina explained in an interview with Bloomberg. "It felt like the right moment to make a change." The couple raised six children within these walls, hosting numerous family gatherings and celebrations, including two sons' weddings on the expansive lawns.

The estate's interior features multiple fireplaces, a library, and a renovated kitchen, which Katharina took great pleasure in modernizing. While some of Hepburn's original touches have been preserved, such as the rose garden gifted by Givenchy, others have been tastefully updated to suit the Beaujolins' needs.

As they prepare to bid farewell to their beloved home, Katharina reflects on what made "La Paisible" so special. "It was never just Audrey Hepburn's house; it was our home," she said. "Now, of course, we're thinking about her again, as it's a great argument for buyers." The property's unique blend of history, natural beauty, and family charm is sure to captivate potential buyers seeking a tranquil retreat with a touch of Hollywood glamour.
