ct. 17, 2025 – Austin and the Texas Housing Department pledged $46.1 million to expand affordable housing for low‑ and moderate‑income residents. Eight projects in Districts 1, 3, 4, 7, and 9 will add 728 rental units. The Bailey at Stassney (District 3) gets $5.6 million for 104 units, 45‑year affordability. Manor Apartments (District 1) receives $5.7 million for 181 units, 40‑year. Bloom at Lamar Square (District 9) is funded $5.5 million for 56 units, 40‑year. Lamar Square Phase 1 (District 9) gets $4.5 million for 45 units, 40‑year. Crossroads Redevelopment (District 7) receives $11.7 million ($7.5 million from bonds, $4.2 million from North Burnet Gateway) to convert 92 units into 110, with 14 units 99‑year affordable and 96 units 40‑year. Pathways at Santa Rita Courts West (District 3) gets $5.9 million to overhaul 44 units and add 52, totaling 96 units, 45‑year. St. George’s Court (District 4) receives $1.7 million to rehab 60 senior units, 45‑year. Waverly North (District 9) gets $5.5 million to restore 76 units, 45‑year.
