aylor’s Real Estate Club has transformed from a casual meetup into a robust networking hub for aspiring realtors. Founded last year by senior Alec Grace of San Clemente, California, and his older brother, the club is rapidly attracting students interested in commercial real estate.
The club’s stated goal on Baylor’s website is to “educate, inspire and advise Baylor students pursuing a career in the real estate industry.” Grace notes steady growth: 50 members last year, about 70 now, with an additional 10 expected this fall. “We’re technically in our third semester,” he says. “Most of us are business majors, but we have a few from other fields.”
A highlight for Grace is watching members learn the trade firsthand. “I guide them on proper networking, resume polish, soft skills, and technical knowledge,” he explains. Guest speakers from Dallas, Austin, and Houston travel to campus to share experiences and sometimes bring recruiters. “They often reach out to us,” Grace adds. “It’s a vibrant community. Real estate thrives on relationships, and we’re building that into the club.”
Franco Eichelmann, a sophomore from Frisco, credits the club with clarifying his career path. “Connecting in real estate is tough, but this club opened doors,” he says. “It helped me understand the industry, what a typical 9‑to‑5 looks like, and gave me practice through mock interviews and technical training.”
Launching the club was nerve‑wracking, especially with high‑profile speakers. “Marketing is the hardest part—you never know if students will be interested,” Grace admits. “Seeing them engage and grow made the effort worthwhile.” The first meeting drew about 40 students, confirming the club’s potential.
Beyond meetings, the club offers alumni connections, mock interviews, guest talks, and virtual internships, giving members a practical edge in commercial real estate. “There’s a real opportunity to gain more than just attendance,” Grace says. “Everyone will buy a home someday—real estate is an investment.”
Students can join by filling out an online Google Form.
Alexia Finney, a sophomore finance major with a film and digital media minor from Austin, Texas, enjoys tennis, the outdoors, and learning new instruments. After graduation, she plans to merge her business acumen with creative pursuits in a finance career within the media industry.
