Biotech firm leases top space in Penn 1 building

Roivant Sciences leases top two floors of Penn 1 in Midtown Manhattan.

R
oivant Sciences, a biotech company founded by Vivek Ramaswamy, has secured a lease for the top two floors of Vornado's Penn 1 in Midtown Manhattan. The firm will occupy the entire 54th and 55th floors, spanning 55,000 square feet, after relocating from Durst Organization's 151 West 42nd Street. The 15-year lease was reportedly negotiated at an asking rent of $140 per square foot.

The deal marks another significant leasing achievement for Vornado, which has invested heavily in upgrading the property. Last year, the company poured $450 million into Penn 1 to enhance its 55 floors with new amenities and sustainability features. Other notable tenants at the complex include Dell, Empire Heath, Gusto, Hartford Insurance, Jacobs Engineering, Morgan Stanley, Samsung, and Wells Fargo.

Roivant's lease follows a string of high-profile signings at Penn 1, including Canaccord Genuity Group's 75,000-square-foot deal in July and Samsung's 36,000-square-foot agreement for its North America ad sales group. Accounting firm Weaver and Tidwell recently agreed to take 36,500 square feet at the Midtown tower.
