Luxury linen brand Brooklinen leaves Brooklyn for new HQ in Manhattan's Hudson Square.

L
uxury linens retailer Brooklinen is leaving its Brooklyn roots behind and relocating to Hudson Square. The company has signed a 10-year lease at 225 Varick Street, a joint venture between Trinity Real Estate, Norges Bank Investment Management, and Hines. Brooklinen will occupy 32,000 square feet in the building, which was renovated by Hudson Square Properties in 2018.

The asking rent for the space was not disclosed, but it's clear that Brooklinen is making a significant investment in its new location. The company is currently based at 10 Jay Street in Dumbo and will be relocating to Hudson Square, where other notable tenants include Shake Shack and Squarespace.

Hudson Square Properties' portfolio includes 12 buildings, including 160 Varick Street, 155 Avenue of the Americas, and 205 Hudson Street. The neighborhood has been undergoing a commercial revitalization, with Google opening a new campus at St. John's Terminal last year and Disney building a 19-story complex for its New York City headquarters nearby.
