BRE Announces Sale of Gardencrest Apartment Homes in Waltham, MA

    Representatives from CBRE, led by Simon Butler, Biria St. John, John McLaughlin, and Brian Bowler, have announced the sale of Gardencrest Apartment Homes, a 696-unit workforce housing community in Waltham, Massachusetts. The property was sold to an affiliate of San Francisco-based Fowler Property Acquisition (FPA Multifamily), with CBRE representing both the seller, an affiliate of Harbor Group International, and procuring the buyer.

    Located on 34 acres, Gardencrest Apartment Homes features a mix of apartments and townhomes built between 1949 and 1972. The community offers easy access to downtown Boston, Cambridge, Waltham, and Watertown. With 64 residential buildings, amenities include a 2012-built clubhouse, gym, and pool. Units range from classic to fully renovated, averaging 906 square feet in size. The new owner plans to implement renovations and enhance common areas and amenities.

    The property has been renamed ReNew Waltham by the buyer.
