evelopers Centaur Properties and Greyscale Development Group have sold several multimillion-dollar units at the Jardim condos since 2019, but a lawsuit filed by the building's board alleges that they owe $44,000 in common charges for two unsold commercial units. The condo board has recorded liens against the units and is seeking foreclosure judgments. According to Centaur attorney Shaun Pappas, the dispute centers on an assessment implemented by the board, which Centaur claims it has not been given sufficient information to support.
The Jardim condos, located at 525-531 West 27th Street, have attracted high-profile buyers and sold units for tens of millions of dollars. A penthouse in the complex recently sold for $15 million after being rented to rapper Bad Bunny for $150,000 a month. Other notable sales include a $10 million deal for Unit 9S and an $8.4 million purchase of Unit 9A.
Centaur Properties has faced other legal issues this year, including a lawsuit against the production company behind "Sleep No More," which is currently being held at the McKittrick Hotel owned by Centaur. The development firm claims that the show's lack of a public assembly permit endangers guests and owes over $5 million in rent.
