hime, a San Francisco-based fintech company, has expanded its presence in New York City with a new lease at 122 Fifth Ave. The move marks the latest growth of Chime's footprint in the city.
The company will occupy 84,000 square feet, more than doubling its current space at 101 Greenwich St. and adding to its existing Midtown location. The asking rent for the new space was $96 per square foot, according to Newmark, which represented the landlord Bromley Companies.
Bromley's CEO Nicholas Haines said the company's reinvention of the Flatiron building, including state-of-the-art office space and wellness features, made it an attractive option for tech companies like Chime. The 300,000-square-foot building is now more than 90% leased following a $100 million improvement project, with Microsoft as its largest tenant.
