Study Reveals Wi-Fi and Cellular Connectivity as Top Priorities for Businesses

ew research reveals that connectivity has surpassed price and amenities as the top consideration for business leaders when leasing office space. A study commissioned by Boldyn Networks found that Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity are crucial factors in choosing a new premises, outranking location only slightly. The report, "Location. Location. Connectivity," surveyed over 2,000 business leaders across the US and UK, revealing that 79% of US respondents and 77% of UK respondents plan to move to a new building within five years.

    Seamless connectivity is not just important for leasing decisions; it also has a direct impact on employee productivity. Four in five business leaders believe that reliable connectivity boosts productivity, and nearly all respondents (96% US/94% UK) are willing to pay more rent for robust and reliable connectivity.

    To meet tenants' expectations, property owners are prioritizing network infrastructure. Jason Caliento, Chief Commercial Officer at Boldyn, notes that exceptional connectivity fuels business operations, enhances productivity, and boosts employee satisfaction. The demand for smart building technologies is also on the rise, with nine out of ten US and UK business leaders agreeing that they would be beneficial to their business.

    The global smart building market is expected to reach $568.02 billion by 2032, driven by the need for sustainable, tech-enabled spaces. With real estate responsible for 40% of global carbon emissions, smart technologies reliant on robust connectivity will play a crucial role in creating a greener future.
