Hidden Gem City Lures Budget-Friendly Buyers and Beach Enthusiasts

A popular destination is just 30 minutes from a well-known beach.

C
onway, a charming South Carolina city just 30 minutes from Myrtle Beach, is experiencing a surge in interest among Americans looking to relocate. As one of the oldest towns in the Palmetto State, Conway offers an attractive alternative for beach lovers on a budget.

According to MoveBuddah, a moving company comparison site, Conway has seen a significant spike in online traffic from people searching for moving services. In fact, their analysis of over 55,000 searches revealed that four times as many people are looking to move to Conway than leave it.

One reason for this interest is the city's affordable housing market. The median home price in Conway was $298,500 in June, a whopping $150,000 less than the national median price tag. In contrast, similarly sized homes in Myrtle Beach can cost upwards of $1-2 million.

While Conway may not offer the same touristy attractions as its seaside neighbor, it provides plenty of room for families to grow on a budget. The city's historic downtown is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and features live oak trees iconic to the Southern region. With several golf courses and arts programming through Coastal Carolina University, Conway offers a more laid-back alternative to Myrtle Beach.

With an estimated population of 26,000 locals, Conway may soon see an influx of new residents if online searches for moving companies are any indication.

Coastal city attracts budget-conscious buyers and beachgoers with affordable lifestyle options.
