Compass Co-Founder Tomer Fridman Departs Company

Tomer Fridman, Beverly Hills celebrity agent, leaves Compass brokerage after internal announcement.

T
omer Fridman, a top-producing agent in Beverly Hills, has parted ways with Compass. According to an internal email from Parker Beatty, regional vice president of Southern California and Hawaii, Fridman's departure was effective immediately due to a desire to align the workplace culture with Compass' values. The exact reasons for his departure remain unclear.

Fridman was one of Compass' top producers in 2022, closing over $840 million in deals. He had worked with high-profile clients including Khloe Kardashian and Sylvester Stallone through his team, the Fridman Group. His departure raises questions about the future of Jones Fridman International, a mega team he formed with Sally Forster Jones earlier this year.

Forster Jones could not be reached for comment on Monday. However, she and Fridman announced on social media that they had sold an 8,200-square-foot penthouse in Westwood's Beverly West luxury condo tower off-market for $25.3 million. The two agents combined their teams in April to create Jones Fridman International, which has since merged with a seven-person team from Straser Silicon Valley.

The resulting team now totals 45 agents with over $25 billion in combined career sales. Fridman had stated that the key focus for the team was luxury markets, and they were eyeing expansion into New York, Miami, Nashville, Montecito, Orange County, and Aspen. This marks Fridman's second departure from Compass, having left briefly to join Hilton & Hyland in 2021 before returning to Compass later that year.
