Compass Acquires PorchLight Real Estate Group, Welcomes Back Former Agents

C
ompass has acquired PorchLight Real Estate Group, a 150-agent firm in Denver, Colorado. This move solidifies Compass' presence in the high-demand Denver metro market and aligns with its strategy to grow market share through targeted acquisitions of established local players.

PorchLight was founded in 2005 by co-CEOs Amy Bayer and Carol Bayer, who are women- and LGBTQ+-owned business leaders. The firm ranked 353rd on the T3 Sixty Mega 1000 list of top brokerages by U.S. sales volume, closing 1,351 transaction sides valued at $952 million in 2024.

"I'm excited to welcome PorchLight's talented agents who have built a reputation for caring deeply about their clients and providing personal service," said Compass Founder and CEO Robert Reffkin. "Together, we will be able to learn from each other and better serve Coloradans."

PorchLight's leaders cited shared values as a driving factor in the decision to join Compass. "Joining Compass feels like the natural next step for PorchLight," Bayer said. "We've always believed in empowering agents to do their best work, and Compass offers the scale and technology to help take that to the next level."

This acquisition comes during a period of major consolidation activity in the industry, with Compass also acquiring Chicago's @properties Christie's International Real Estate and Tennessee's Parks Real Estate and Latter + Blum.

Meanwhile, five veteran agents have rejoined Seattle-based Windermere Real Estate after previously leaving for Compass. The agents cited a desire for more collaboration, community, and connection as reasons for their return to Windermere.

"We're very excited to welcome these five agents back to Windermere," said Co-President OB Jacobi. "Their return speaks volumes about the supportive, agent-focused culture we've worked hard to cultivate."

In other news, top luxury agent Brandi Lewis has returned to Keller Williams in Atlanta after five years with Compass. Lewis specializes in ultra-luxury home sales and will continue to work with high-profile buyers and sellers while serving as director of luxury at Keller Williams Realty West ATL.
