Compass Gains Top Agent as David Kramer Leaves Hilton & Hyland

David Kramer's team joins Compass from Hilton & Hyland, bringing $1.7B+ in sales to Beverly Hills office.

D
avid Kramer, former president of Hilton & Hyland, has left the brokerage to join Compass. His six-person team, which includes Andrew Buss, Carol Whitley, Chris Evangelatos, Luke Cohen, Roya Sklar, and Todd Simons, brings over $1.7 billion in career sales to Compass' Beverly Hills office. The David Kramer Group's active listings total $316.7 million, with some co-listings still associated with Hilton & Hyland agents.

Kramer's departure marks a significant shift for Hilton & Hyland, which has seen several high-profile exits in recent years. His team is expected to continue serving clients under Compass' umbrella. "This move is about growing my business with a brokerage that has a vibrant and innovative vision," Kramer said of the decision.

The change comes as Compass prepares to expand its presence in Los Angeles through a planned acquisition of Christie's International Real Estate and @properties for $444 million. The deal, set to close next year, will further solidify Compass' position in the market.

Kramer's nearly 20-year tenure at Hilton & Hyland has included some of the city's most notable deals, including the record-breaking sale of Spelling Manor in 2011. He took on a leadership role after Jeff Hyland's passing and became part of an executive committee following Billy Jack Carter's departure earlier this year.

Kramer's exit is the latest in a series of high-profile departures from Hilton & Hyland, which has served as a springboard for several notable brokerages in recent years. The brokerage has seen agents like Kurt Rappaport and Stephen Shapiro's Westside Estate Agency, Branden and Rayni Williams' Beverly Hills Estates, and Drew Fenton's Carolwood leave to start their own ventures.
