A
construction accident occurred at the Surfside site of Fort Partners' condo project, leaving three workers injured. Two were transported to hospitals with traumatic injuries, while a third was taken by ground ambulance. Miami-Dade County Fire Rescue responded to the incident, which happened around 11:08 a.m. on Friday.
The accident took place at 9165 Collins Avenue, where Fort Partners is building an 11-story, 14-unit condo project called Hillcrest by the Sea. The developer, led by Nadim Ashi, purchased the oceanfront site for $41.5 million in 2023 as part of a larger investment along Collins Avenue.
According to Fort Partners, three team members from GM&P Consulting and Glazing Contractors were injured while offloading glass panels from a delivery truck. The incident occurred within the container on the truck before it was unloaded. The company has promised to release more information as details become available.
The accident site is adjacent to the newly completed Seaway at the Surf Club, where closings have been underway since October. Deals for units in the building have included purchases by health care mogul Frederick Howe and Stronach Group CEO Belinda Stronach.
