Corona del Mar mogul seeks $50 million sale of luxury estate

Luxury Home Flip: Builder/Broker Lin He Lists Oceanfront Mansion for $49.5M, Doubling His Investment.

L
in He, a seasoned builder and broker, has listed an 11,600-square-foot oceanfront mansion at 77 Shorecliff Road in Corona del Mar for $49.5 million. The property, which boasts breathtaking views from Arch Rock to Catalina Island, was purchased by He just two years ago for $20.6 million. He's co-listing the five-bedroom, 10-bathroom estate with Rob Giem of Compass and his design-build investment firm, Rellion.

The mansion, designed by Brion Jeanette in 2008, has undergone significant renovations to give it a contemporary look while maintaining its Old-World charm. Upgrades include sleek lighting fixtures, custom window shades, and modern audio, visual, and security systems. The home's traditional wood floors and fireplaces were preserved to create a striking contrast between old and new.

The property features formal living and dining rooms, a kitchen with breakfast nook, large family room, wood-paneled office, gym, home theater, wet bar, four-story elevator, and an eight-car garage. Outside, there's a rooftop terrace, oceanfront deck with pool, barbecue center, and private path to the beach.

He has a reputation for flipping high-end properties, including a Joseph Eichler-designed house in Orange that he restored and sold for $1.07 million after purchasing it for $400,000 six years ago. His most recent project, a custom home in east Costa Mesa, set a record sale price of $4.7 million when it sold in August.
