Court docs: luxury real estate bros deny witnesses in trafficking trial.

Defense lawyers for two luxury real estate brokers and brother aim to prove at a January trial that many witnesses lie.

D
efense counsel for brothers Oren, Tal and Alon Alexander, prominent luxury real‑estate agents, filed a motion in Manhattan federal court asserting that many witnesses slated to testify against them will be untruthful. They plan to introduce photographs and text‑message exchanges to expose falsehoods. Judge Valerie E. Caproni, who will oversee the case, held a preliminary hearing on Thursday to set procedural rules ahead of the trial slated for Jan. 5. She indicated the possibility of postponing the proceeding until May to allow sufficient time for legal deliberations.

Prosecutors estimate a six‑week presentation, whereas the defense anticipates a week. The trio remains in custody without bail. More than 60 women have accused the brothers of rape between 2002 and 2021, allegations the attorneys deny. Prior to the charges, Oren and Tal had brokered high‑end properties across New York, Miami and Los Angeles, allegedly leveraging their status to target women.

In the motion, counsel highlighted evidence that undermines key elements of the victims’ accounts and argued that witnesses may be motivated to lie for financial gain or to avoid admitting consensual encounters with the brothers. They requested permission to disclose certain evidence only during cross‑examination, citing the defendants’ right to surprise. The judge has yet to rule on the request.
