reenberg Traurig, a New York-based law firm with 48 offices worldwide, is relocating to Dallas' Uptown district. The company will occupy two floors of the 20-story McKinney & Olive building at 2021 McKinney Avenue, taking up 49,400 square feet. This move represents a significant win for the building's owners, Granite Properties and Highwoods Properties, who acquired the property in 2022 for $395 million.
The law firm will exit its current space in the Dallas Arts Tower by spring 2026. The relocation is part of a trend of companies choosing Uptown as their new home. Despite a slump in office demand across most markets, Uptown has seen an increase in deal activity and leasing velocity. Paul Bennett, senior managing director at Granite, notes that "deal velocity and activity are picking up" in the area.
Recent notable leases in Uptown include Deloitte's 100,000-square-foot lease at 23Springs tower and Wing Stop's 112,000-square-foot lease at One West Village. The area's amenities, such as rooftop terraces and in-building restaurants, continue to attract major companies like Sidley Austin LLP and McKinsey & Co.
