A
high-end real estate agent, Gail Bomze, was arrested in the Hamptons after allegedly biting a 7-year-old girl during a tussle over a free t-shirt at a family-friendly concert. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon at Main Beach in East Hampton Village, where Bomze, 75, was charged with third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child. According to police, the girl's parents said she was trying to catch a t-shirt thrown from a balcony when Bomze bit her, leaving her with a swollen and bloodied arm.
An event employee accused Bomze of "kicking and punching kids" during the t-shirt toss, while investigators reported that one young girl claimed Bomze grabbed her arm and bit it. The venue was searched after the child's parents called 911, and Bomze was released on an appearance ticket. Her lawyer, Christopher McGuire, denied the allegations, saying his client was knocked to the ground by teenagers and left injured.
The East Hampton Village Foundation, which organizes the Tuesdays at Main Beach concert series, apologized for the incident and pledged to improve safety measures. The event's CEO, Bradford Billet, described it as an isolated incident in a normally safe and family-friendly environment. Bomze has a successful career as a Manhattan real estate agent, having brokered high-profile deals including a $21.8 million Park Avenue townhouse sale.
