aywood Hotels has received approval to construct a 124-key Hyatt House hotel on a 3.3-acre site at 10234 Northwest 19th Street in Doral. The six-story building will be built adjacent to an existing 135-key Residence Inn by Marriott. The town council unanimously approved the project on Wednesday. According to city records, the property is owned by the Doral-based Easton Group, which will lease the development site to Baywood, also based in Doral.

    In South Florida, there has been an increase in hospitality project proposals. In Miami's Wynwood neighborhood, a group of German firms has planned an eight-story, 214-key hotel with 87 condos on the southeast corner of Northwest 23rd Street and Northwest First Place. The Wynwood projects review board approved this project recently.

    In Pompano Beach, billionaire Bill Malhotra's real estate firm Claridge Homes is planning to construct a 15-story, 220-room Courtyard by Marriott at 101 South Ocean Boulevard, near the oceanfront. Additionally, the Toledano family's BH Group and Prime Group are planning to build a 15-story hotel with 246 keys and a public plaza at 804 South Federal Highway in Hallandale Beach.
