East Coast Female Graduates Break Records in Real Estate

The Goldie Initiative Prepares Women for Senior Leadership Roles in Real Estate and Beyond

T
he Goldie B. Wolfe Miller Women Leaders in Real Estate Initiative (The Goldie Initiative) has announced its 2024-25 cohort of program participants, with over half hailing from graduate programs on the East Coast. This significant presence reflects the organization's efforts to expand opportunities for women pursuing high-level careers in commercial real estate.

Megan Abraham, CEO of The Goldie Initiative, notes that the record number of scholars from the Northeast demonstrates the success of their formal programming launched earlier this year. "The talent pool of women in CRE is geographically diverse," she said, "and bringing more of what our organization offers to East Coast markets will help us have an even greater impact on female leadership in the industry."

New schools joining the program include Boston University, George Washington University, University of Virginia, and Yale University. They join established East Coast schools such as Columbia University, Georgetown, Harvard University, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

The Goldie Initiative has been providing scholarship, mentorship, networking, and skill development for women pursuing real estate-focused graduate studies since 2007. As the community grows, so does its ability to reach the next generation of female leaders.

Katie Kazas, The Goldie Initiative board president, emphasizes that programs like theirs are crucial in supporting women's advancement in the workplace. "Having healthy representation of women at every level of the corporate pipeline is key to progressing toward parity in the C-suite," she said.

The organization will host networking events on the East Coast this quarter, including sessions in Boston, New York City, and Philadelphia at Drexel University. For more information about The Goldie Initiative and its mission, visit www.goldieinitiative.org.
