asttown Township's proposed 2025 budget includes a decrease in real estate millage rate, resulting in lower property taxes compared to last year. The new rate is set at 5.4 mills, representing a 10% reduction from the 2024 rate of 5.99 mills. For a $300,000 property, this translates to a $1,620 real estate tax bill.
The budget allocates funds as follows:
* 3.469 mills for general purposes
* 0.102 mills for parks and recreation
* 0.569 mills for library
* 0.554 mills for capital projects
* 0.706 mills for fire/EMS services
The proposed budget also accounts for new revenue generated by the recently adopted earned income tax of one-half of one percent.
Residents can review the budget at the Easttown Township Building, located at 566 Beaumont Road in Devon, from Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Those with disabilities or requiring accommodations should contact Township Manager Don Curley at 610-687-3000.
The board of supervisors will consider and adopt the final budget on December 2 at 7 p.m.
