sama Saad El-Din, Executive Director of the Real Estate Development Chamber at the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI), revealed that his organization participated in a visit led by the FEI to Libya. The delegation signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Libyan counterparts, aiming to enhance cooperation and exchange investment expertise between Egypt and Libya. These agreements will facilitate Egyptian companies' participation in Libya's reconstruction.
The MoUs were signed on behalf of the Egyptian side by Mohamed El-Bahi, representing the FEI delegation. Saad El-Din highlighted that Egyptian companies possess valuable experience in various reconstruction specialties, including building new cities and executing comprehensive urban projects. He emphasized that the private sector is a key partner in Egypt's development over the past decade.
The Libyan market offers a strong opportunity for exporting Egyptian building materials once reconstruction plans begin. Saad El-Din also noted that participating in Libya's reconstruction is not only an investment role but also a national duty towards a brotherly country with which Egypt shares longstanding relations and mutual interests.
During the joint meetings, several requests were presented by both sides. The Egyptians requested simplifying procedures for Egyptian laborers to participate in the reconstruction plan, while the Libyans promised to respond to numerous inquiries regarding participation in Libya's reconstruction. Another meeting will be held to discuss these questions and explore partnership opportunities in the reconstruction process.
