llen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have put their Cotswolds estate on the market, just a year after purchasing it for $20 million. The couple had heavily renovated the property, which spans 43 acres, but ultimately decided to sell due to its lack of a horse facility.
The estate features a 16,000-square-foot main house with six bedrooms, a two-bedroom guesthouse, an outbuilding with a pool and gym, and a heated five-car garage. The property also boasts a "party barn with a pub" and was renovated in just 4.5 months by about 70 workers.
The couple had initially planned to live on the estate full-time but decided against it due to Portia's love of horses. They have since moved to a larger, more contemporary estate nearby that meets their needs.
The Cotswolds estate is being sold through Sotheby's International Realty, and its agent notes that the property's polish is hard to find in the area. However, the renovation process was not without controversy, with local parish councillors expressing concerns over potential disruptions to Roman remains and a fence that could increase flood risk.
