Federal Agency Halts New PDC Development Following Brief Suspension

laya del Carmen, Q.R. — A major real estate development in Playa del Carmen has been shut down by federal authorities. Orlando García González, the Municipal Director of Regulation, confirmed the closure on Friday.

    The project, located in Playacar Phase II, was previously suspended due to deforestation and other irregularities that exceeded authorized boundaries. Following its suspension, Profepa became involved and ultimately closed the development.

    This is not the first time concerns have been raised about this real estate company. To date, 42 complaints have been filed against them with various agencies, including Urban Development and the Environment Ministry. Additionally, over 200 signatures were collected by civil associations to stop the project altogether.
