O
ren and Alon Alexander are being held in jail after their arrest on federal sex trafficking charges last week. The brothers' alleged victims number over a dozen women who claim they were raped or assaulted by the Alexanders or one of them dating back to high school. The FBI investigation began after reports surfaced in June of civil lawsuits accusing the brothers of rape.
The Miami-Dade State Attorney's office has also charged Oren and Alon with sexual battery, with three counts linked to alleged attacks between 2016 and 2021. Their family friend, Ohad Fisherman, was implicated in one incident. The brothers have denied all allegations.
In court, the twins' parents offered their waterfront home as collateral for bail packages, but a federal hold kept them in state custody. Attorney Milton Williams proposed a $115 million bail package secured by the family's homes and an office building, but Judge Lisette M. Reid ruled that Tal would be detained due to concerns about risk of flight.
Tal is expected to appear in federal court this week and will eventually be transferred to New York, where he'll be held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. The investigation has raised questions about whether the Alexanders' private security firm, Kent Security, played a role in the alleged scheme, and who prosecutors may target next.
