former Dunkirk school building has been repurposed as a mental health clinic. The Boorady Building, located at 88-92 E. Fourth St., was sold to BestSelf Properties, LLC of Buffalo in September for $160,000. The building had sat empty for several years and was once home to a school reading clinic.
The sale was approved by voters in the Dunkirk City School District through a public referendum held in December 2023. BestSelf Behavioral Health operates out of the location, offering Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) services. ACT is a mobile team of mental health professionals providing community-based treatment and rehabilitation to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness.
Among the top sales in Chautauqua County from September 9-11 were:
* A residence on Lakeside Drive in Ellery sold for $1,265,000
* A property on Route 20 in Sheridan sold for $632,000
* A parcel on Bowman Avenue in Chautauqua Institution sold for $528,030
In total, there were 65 transactions during the specified period, with seven sales exceeding $250,000. The full list of sales includes:
