Former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani Lists Upper East Side Penthouse for $4.95M

From Victory Lap to Clearance Sale: How to Turn Your Product into a Bestseller

R
udy Giuliani is leaving behind his Upper East Side co-op and New York City for good. The former mayor, who once represented President Donald Trump as a personal lawyer, sold his long-troubled penthouse at 45 E. 66th Street for $4.95 million.

The three-bedroom spread had been on the market since March with an initial price of $5.2 million, down from its original ask of $6.5 million in 2023. The sale comes after Giuliani's legal troubles overshadowed the apartment's desirable features, including a wood-paneled library and city views.

Giuliani parted ways with his longtime residence after a judge ordered it to be seized as part of a $146 million defamation judgment against him. However, a confidential settlement allowed him to keep the property, which he had purchased in 2002 for $4.8 million.

Before selling, Giuliani bought out his third ex-wife, Judith, for $2.5 million, taking sole ownership of the apartment as per their divorce agreement. The couple swapped the Upper East Side home for a Hamptons property.

With the sale complete, Giuliani will make Florida his primary address, leaving behind Central Park views for palm trees. His representative, attorney Gary Rosen, declined to comment on the final sale price or the identity of the buyer.
