These towns dominated the ranking, which was determined by metrics such as page-view traffic, home value growth, and home sale speed.

    The small towns in the Northeast, including those in Connecticut, have been a consistent favorite among homebuyers for two years running. Stamford took third place, Bridgeport fifth, New Haven eighth, and Waterbury ninth on Zillow's list.

    Connecticut's housing market has seen a shift towards smaller towns beyond suburbs, also known as exurbs, which are becoming increasingly popular due to hybrid work models. These towns offer an affordable lifestyle with amenities close to major cities like New York City and Hartford.

    The most expensive home sold in Connecticut last year was previously owned by Donald Trump. Other notable towns on Zillow's top 10 list include Manchester, New Hampshire; Rockford, Illinois; Columbia, Maryland; Allentown, Pennsylvania; Peoria, Illinois; Sunnyvale, California; and two other Connecticut towns, Bridgeport and New Haven.
