fter a 15-year hiatus, Galveston is finally getting its first new condo building. Developer Satya Inc., based in Houston, will break ground on Tiara on the Beach on December 6 at San Luis Pass Road. The project was delayed for three years due to permitting issues with the city of Galveston and federal agencies. A $100 million loan from the International Bank of Commerce in Laredo enabled the development to move forward.
The $130 million project will feature a 10-story tower with 63 units, priced between $1.2 million and $3.5 million for one- to three-bedroom condos. Amenities include a pool, fitness center, pickleball court, and private beach access. Sales began in 2022 through Nan and Company Properties, a Houston-based affiliate of Christie's International Real Estate.
The west end of Galveston has seen significant development activity since the Tiara announcement, including an adjacent 80-unit tower and a $250 million mixed-use beachside project. Satya is also involved in several other condo projects in Houston, such as The Sophie on Bayou Bend and The Giorgetti.
