Garden City attorney has admitted to swindling over $5 million from dozens of clients in a series of real estate scams spanning four years, prosecutors said. Daniel Boldi, 49, pleaded guilty to 13 counts of second-degree grand larceny and a scheme to defraud, agreeing to surrender his law license. The Nassau County District Attorney's office stated that Boldi embezzled $5,780,424 between September 2020 and January 2024 from homeowners, real estate agents, and other property professionals.

    Under his plea agreement, Boldi must repay $1 million by April 17 to avoid a maximum sentence of 12 years. If he fails to do so, he could face up to three-to-nine years in prison. Four dozen clients lost $4,630,424 due to Boldi's schemes, according to the district attorney.

    District Attorney Anne Donnelly described Boldi as a "trusted professional" who orchestrated elaborate scams that defrauded nearly four dozen individuals out of over five million dollars. In one instance, he lied about paying off an East Meadow couple's mortgage balance, forcing them to continue making payments on a property they no longer owned. He also stole $1.15 million from a private investor using fake records and embezzled another $1.15 million through two separate loan thefts.

    Boldi's defense lawyer stated that his client hopes to pay off the money he owes by selling some of his properties.
