Google expands in North Texas with massive 1.1M sq ft warehouse lease

Google signs massive 1.1M sq ft lease in west Fort Worth, a top Texas deal this year.

G
oogle has leased a massive 1.1 million square foot warehouse in western Fort Worth, one of the largest deals in Texas this year. The California-based tech giant began renting the facility on October 1st at the Majestic Silver Creek Business Park, a 520-acre complex located near Loop 820 and Silver Creek Road. This is Google's second major lease in Dallas-Fort Worth this year, following a similar deal for a 1 million square foot facility at Northlake 35 Logistics Park.

The two facilities are expected to house data center materials as Google expands its operations in Red Oak and Midlothian. The company plans to invest $1 billion in Texas through its D-FW data centers, which will help meet growing demand for artificial intelligence, Google Cloud, and other products like search engines and maps. This deal is among the top five largest new leases signed in Texas this year.

Data center space under construction in Dallas-Fort Worth has reached record levels, with the region ranking second in inventory behind Northern Virginia and sixth in net leasing activity nationwide. Other major tech companies are also expanding in the area, including Compass, which will add three data centers in Red Oak totaling over 750,000 square feet.
