T
he Huron, a waterfront condominium in Brooklyn's Greenpoint neighborhood, made a significant splash in the luxury market last week. The development scored three of the five priciest contracts in Brooklyn, with Serhant agents pushing to sell out its 171 units. The project's most expensive unit, PHA-W, closed for $5.7 million after initially being priced at $6 million, setting a record for a Greenpoint condo sale.
The penthouse condo features four bedrooms and three full bathrooms, along with amenities like a saltwater pool, fitness center, private park, and residents' lounge. Serhant's Kayla Lee, leading sales for the building, previously reported that The Huron was 85 percent sold. The development officially launched sales last year after a whisper campaign in 2022.
In other Brooklyn luxury market news, nine townhouse contracts were signed last week, including the most expensive one at 619 Second Street in Park Slope, listed for $6.5 million. This 1920 limestone home underwent a restoration and renovation in 2019 and features six bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a renovated guest suite with access to the backyard. The townhouse previously sold for nearly $4 million in 2018.
The Brooklyn luxury market saw significant activity last week, with 24 contracts signed for homes with asking prices totaling $73.2 million, up from 21 contracts and $71.6 million in the same week last year. Average days on market decreased to 86 from 130, while three homes had their asking prices discounted and two were increased.
