Harlem's Studio Museum to Reopen on November 15

New Harlem museum falls behind schedule due to pandemic and funding issues.

W
e're thrilled to report on a long-awaited revival: the Studio Museum in Harlem, which has been closed since 2018. It's one of six "cursed" projects we identified earlier this year that have finally broken through their development hurdles.

The museum's new home at 144 W. 125th St. has undergone significant changes, including a redesign by an international team of architects. The project was delayed due to the pandemic and temporary funding issues, but it's now set to reopen on November 15 with expanded facilities across seven floors.

This is a welcome respite from the stalled developments that have plagued New York City in recent years. Now, if only we could resolve another long-standing issue: the structural problems plaguing 1 Seaport!
