Herbert Smith Freehills names Dan Berman Managing Partner, U.S. Real Estate, 20 yrs leadership & dealmaking 2025 merger.

erbert Smith Freehills Kramer (HSF Kramer) has named Dan Berman, a veteran of its real‑estate practice, as Managing Partner of U.S. Real Estate. The promotion follows the June 2025 merger of Herbert Smith Freehills and Kramer Levin, making Berman one of six leaders steering the firm’s U.S. operations.

    With almost twenty years of experience, Berman advises opportunistic investors, developers, public companies and hedge funds nationwide. He has closed multi‑billion‑dollar deals for sports and entertainment arenas, hyperscale data‑center projects, and was named REBNY’s “Most Ingenious Deal of the Year.” His portfolio also includes recapitalizations of distressed office assets in New York and he structures complex redevelopment for non‑profit entities.
