uxury homes in Austin are slowly finding buyers, but at a slower pace. According to the latest Eklund Gomes report, the average days on market for these properties rose from 33 to 96 days last week, as listings were put on hold ahead of the holidays. Despite this slowdown, seven luxury deals worth $22.7 million were made last week, up from $19.8 million the previous week.
Each of these homes came with a pool, and five had four or more bedrooms, indicating that larger family-friendly homes are still selling in Austin's luxury market. The top deal was for a stone estate on Lake Austin, asking nearly $5 million and featuring a heated spa, gourmet kitchen, and covered boat slip.
All seven deals were made in areas west, north, or northwest of downtown Austin, including wealthy neighborhoods like Barton Creek. One notable sale was a $4.25 million home with panoramic views at 4901 Peralta Lane, which had been listed since April without any price cuts.
