Israeli side files for restraining order against Oren, Tal Alexander whereabouts unclear

Oren and Tal Alexander's firm faces new challenge as side seeks restraining order over alleged destruction of collateral.

O
ren and Tal Alexander's legal troubles are escalating. Side, a white-label brokerage firm that backs their company, is seeking a restraining order to prevent them from destroying or concealing collateral related to a loan. The firm claims the brothers breached their contract by failing to repay a loan they received when launching Official Partners two years ago. Despite repeated attempts, Side has yet to serve the defendants and even hired a private investigator to locate them.

Side is urging a judge to grant a temporary restraining order to prevent the Alexanders from selling or disposing of assets included in the collateral. The firm believes the brothers may be hiding assets to avoid repayment. A hearing was scheduled for November 8, but the outcome was not available online at the time of publication.

The lawsuit stems from a loan provided by Side when Official Partners signed an agreement with them in August 2022. Oren and Tal left Douglas Elliman that summer to launch the company with other former Elliman partners. The loan amount is redacted, but Side is seeking repayment in the millions. The Alexanders' primary residences are under construction and vacant, and their whereabouts remain unknown.

An attorney for the brothers denied any missed payments, calling the lawsuit an attempt by Side to take over Official Partners. The company has been experiencing an exodus of agents, with only two remaining in New York. A lawyer representing Oren and Tal has denied involvement with the brothers.
