orner Lot, a Jacksonville-based real estate development firm, plans to redevelop the century-old Casa Marina Hotel in Jacksonville Beach. The company aims to preserve the hotel's historic character while adding new amenities to enhance the guest experience. Corner Lot will purchase the hotel from Elias Hionides of Petra real estate for an undisclosed price.
The redevelopment project includes a mixed-use building across the street, which could feature retail and residential space or a hotel. A five-story building is planned for the 0.9-acre site, with a first-floor retail space, parking garage, and surface parking. The remaining four floors may house either 36 condos or a 125-room hotel.
Corner Lot has assembled a team to work on the project, including architects Robbins Design Studio and Bold Line Design, hospitality partners Sage Hospitality and Kelco Hotels, and lawyers from Driver, McAfee, Hawthorne & Diebenow, PLLC. The company plans to close Casa Marina Hotel at the beginning of 2026 as redevelopment occurs.
The redevelopment team has agreed not to include stand-alone bars or nightclubs in the retail space across the street, but a licensed hotel would be allowed to have a bar in its restaurant area. Corner Lot's goal is to preserve the hotel's legacy while enhancing the surrounding area and reflecting the energy and character of Jacksonville Beach.
