illionaire developer Jeffrey Soffer has sold a unit at Turnberry Ocean Club in Sunny Isles Beach for $16 million, two years after its market debut. The buyer's identity remains hidden behind a Florida entity named for the address. Diane Cohen of Skyline International Realty represented both parties in the deal. Soffer, whose net worth is $1.2 billion, according to Forbes, is the son of Aventura developer Donald Soffer and split from Turnberry Associates in 2019 to start his own firm, Fontainebleau Development.
The 54-story, 154-unit Turnberry Ocean Club tower was completed in 2020 with 70,000 square feet of amenities. The complex has attracted high-end buyers since its completion, including an Argentinian investor who purchased a triplex penthouse for $30 million last year. Soffer initially listed unit 4803 for $20 million in early 2022 before increasing the price to $22.5 million and reducing it to $20 million before closing at $16 million.
The 5,700-square-foot condo features four bedrooms, five bathrooms, and one half-bathroom, with interior design handled by Miami-based Nick Luaces Design Associates. The sale comes as Soffer faces a lawsuit from the Turnberry Ocean Club's condo association over alleged design and construction deficiencies in individual units and common areas. Since departing the family firm, Soffer has completed other condo projects, including SeaGlass Jupiter Island, which he sold out for $168.8 million last year.
