Founded by Joan Herlong in 2011 as AugustaRoad.com Realty, the company became an affiliate of Sotheby's International Realty in 2017 and was renamed Joan Herlong & Associates Sotheby's International Realty.

    The firm has now rebranded itself to better position for future growth without changing ownership. Herlong emphasized that this change maintains the business as woman-owned while giving associates more freedom to build their personal brands.
