uan Manuel Correa is more than just a skilled racing driver. Outside of the cockpit, he has a passion for golf, which he discovered last year in Bahrain. "I was hooked from the first time," he said with a laugh. "Now, every free afternoon I spend on the course." His girlfriend, who's also his business partner, is now equally addicted to the game.
Correa and his girlfriend are building a life together in Miami, where they live and work on various projects. They're involved in real estate and private equity, with Correa taking an active role despite his busy racing schedule. "I'm not too big of a player yet," he acknowledged, "but my girlfriend is very smart and she's the one who runs the show."
Golf has become a significant part of Correa's life, and he's determined to improve his game. His handicap is 22, but he's aiming to shoot low 80s by the end of next year. He credits golf for its mental challenges, which resonate with his racing background. "It's just you against yourself," he said. "I'm a very competitive guy, and that's what I love about it."
Correa has also taken a step back from social media this season, focusing on himself and his relationships. His priorities now are to decide on next year's racing plans, continue working on real estate projects with his girlfriend, and improve his golf game. "I'm growing up and building my adult life as I go," he said with a smile.
