New luxury retailers arrive, including Etna Dulcis and Exude Luxury Group, with The Escape Game and Dr. Martens to open soon

J
une has been a month of new beginnings for businesses in the La Jolla area. The Westfield UTC mall welcomed three new enterprises, while a local resident launched an endeavor in north Pacific Beach.

Etna Dulcis, a Sicilian-inspired dessert shop, has opened at The Turquoise Cafe-Bar Europa in Pacific Beach. Owner Sonia Feau's small business offers authentic Sicilian flavors, including dairy-free granita paired with freshly baked brioche bread. Etna Dulcis had a soft opening on June 21 and is open Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

"I'm excited to bring granita to San Diego," Feau said. "As a scientist and La Jolla resident, I'm passionate about preserving cultural food traditions while offering something new to the community."

Exude Luxury Group, a high-end real estate firm, has launched in La Jolla with a focus on delivering more than just real estate services. The company aims to be "curators of lifestyle, connection, and community." Exude Luxury Group hosted an event on May 29 that brought together over 100 community members and industry professionals.

Tara Monsod, executive chef at Le Coq in La Jolla, was a finalist for the prestigious James Beard Award but did not take home the title. The award went to Jon Yao of Michelin-starred restaurant Kato in Los Angeles.

Westfield UTC mall has welcomed three new businesses: Fabletics, Atlas, and Peter Millar. Fabletics offers fashion and activewear with a subscription program, while Atlas features clothing, jewelry, and skin care products from sustainable brands. Peter Millar is a menswear store focused on golf apparel.

Two more businesses are set to open at UTC in July: The Escape Game and Dr. Martens. Additionally, some existing businesses will be relocating within the mall, including J.Crew and Lululemon.
