illa Vie Residences has announced Project Lumina, a new luxury cruise ship that will let owners live aboard permanently. The vessel, still unnamed, will feature fully owned private residences, premium amenities, and concierge services. Prices start at $539,999 for an ocean‑view cabin and rise to $899,999 for balcony suites, according to a Facebook post. Full details—name, design, launch—will be released later.
The company already operates the Odyssey, a 970‑passenger ship that offers lifetime ownership, rental or lease of cabins. Prices on the Odyssey begin at $189,999 for passengers aged 75‑79, with a monthly maintenance fee of $2,999 or more, depending on unit size and occupants. Odyssey cabins range from 130 to 225 sq ft, with a 675‑sq‑ft Owner’s Suite. The ship continues its “continual world cruise,” stopping at more than 425 ports in 140 countries every 3½ years.
Project Lumina will run alongside the existing Odyssey model, reinforcing Villa Vie’s commitment to long‑term ocean living. “It does not replace the Odyssey; it expands what it means to call the sea home,” said CEO Kathy Villalba. The project is led by President Chris Cox, formerly of Crescent Seas cabin sales.
Official announcements about the new ship’s name, design highlights and inaugural deployment will follow. The vessel promises state‑of‑the‑art interiors, private balconies, and 24‑hour concierge service, aiming to redefine permanent maritime residency.
